The zero sales and On Shelf Availability (OSA) concept was launched for the first time at the DLF conference “Ready for the annual negotiations” last year.
The concept was upgraded in the spring and our experiences shows that there can be earned a lot of money, if and when you have zero sales challenges on critical item numbers.

The objective of the project was a reduction in zero sales situations by 33% over a 3-month-period. Despite the high expectations of the results, the concept has proven to be even more effective than expected. During the period, it was managed to reduce the zero sales situations on the top 5 products with more than 40%.
The situations are that you simply and effectively prioritize, what the challenges are and what are the causes of these challenges in the individual store in the chain. We have prepared two situations, to manage the challenges, in CatMan®Solution V3 in the following reports.
The casual explanations goes through the CatMan®Solution, when sales consultant at a store visit, follows up on the zero sales situations and though the smartphone “chooses” what has been the cause of the “problem”.
In this project the issues are relatively clear:
- 8% ascribes to the good has been empty on the shelve.
- 7% ascribes stock deviations.
- 5% ascribes to the good has been misplaced.
The sales consultant can have a conversation with the store about what can and must be done, to reduce the zero sales situations.
At the meeting with the store, the sales consultant can choose to use the StorePictures report to describe the sales challenges in the store.
